According to recent information from Fuzhou Free Trade Zone, the cross-border e-commerce sector experienced rapid growth in 2023, and the industry outlook is promising. It is anticipated that in 2024, the cross-border e-commerce sector in Fuzhou and nationwide will enter a phase of rapid development.
In 2018, the number of cross-border e-commerce enterprises in the Fuzhou Free Trade Zone exceeded 300, with cross-border e-commerce bonded imports reaching 3.34 million transactions, a year-on-year increase of 421%. The first nationwide cross-border e-commerce full industry chain park, eBay Fujian Cross-Border E-commerce Industrial Park, was established in Fuzhou Free Trade Zone. After over a year of development, the park has achieved an intention-signing area of more than 10,000 square meters.
"Leveraging the location advantages of the Free Trade Zone and the comprehensive supporting services of the industrial park, more and more enterprises are coming here," said a representative from the eBay Fujian Cross-Border E-commerce Industrial Park. Companies entering the park can benefit from various preferential policies related to taxes and talent, which will support their high-quality development. Currently, the park has attracted key cross-border e-commerce enterprises such as China Post, Zongteng Network, Wanyitong, PayPal, and Feiwo Network, maximizing the effects of the cross-border e-commerce industrial cluster.
"We will continue to use the advantages of reform and innovation, build public service platforms, attract leading enterprises, and enhance service efforts, aiming to break 4 million transactions in cross-border e-commerce imports and exports this year," said a representative from the Fuzhou Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee. Following the entry of Cainiao Network and NetEase Kaola into the Fuzhou Free Trade Zone, plans are underway to establish projects like JD.com's cross-border e-commerce industrial base and Dunhuang.com's overseas warehouses, and to seek approval for a cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone. This will accelerate the development of new trade models and help advance cross-border e-commerce business to new heights.
From this information, it is evident that cross-border e-commerce is set to experience rapid growth in 2019. I hope that all cross-border e-commerce practitioners will have prosperous business this year.
